25 Crore Trees to be Planted in 5 Years: Prime Minister

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has announced a plan to plant 25 crore trees across the country over the next five years. He stated that this program will be implemented to combat the effects of climate change, maintain environmental balance, and make the country greener and more livable.

The Prime Minister made these remarks while inaugurating the National Tree Plantation Program in Gournadi, Barishal, on Monday (July 13).

The Prime Minister noted that the number of trees in the country is less than required. Therefore, 25 crore trees will be planted nationwide over the next five years.

Stressing the importance of nurturing every tree to keep the country beautiful and livable, he said, “We must fix our own country ourselves; no one from outside will come and do it for us.”
